Six Degrees – Usagi Yo-Craig? Nah, Just Craig.

And so, we arrive here at the end of season two with the final full interview. This was a very interesting conversation I had with a gentleman that I met last year at a convention up in Maine. He’s a fantastic artist and his name is Craig Holland. Now, I’m going to level with you here, I really don’t know Craig all that well. But to be honest I kinda like the idea of interviewing people that I either barely know or don’t know at all because I have no preconceived notion of what they may answer and let me tell you Craig did not disappoint. He’s a nice guy, a talented artist, someone easy to have a conversation with and has a fantastically odd but endearing sense of humor. It was a pleasure to meet him last year and I feel like we had a great conversation for this show. I hope our paths cross again, sooner rather than later. You can find Craig on instagram @chollandart and his websites: chollandart.bigcartel.com and craighollandillustration.com.

Thanks to Uncle Sam from LFOD, (and the first season), for letting me use the song “You Can Still Call” off of 24in24. The song was written and performed by Time and Lepp and produced by Pure Fact. You can find that and other music on their SoundCloud and you can also listen to LFOD Radio, (which I produce), on the very same app you’re listening to this podcast on, just hit subscribe and listen. Oh, and before I forget: head over to Inbeon.com, check out what they can do for you, (which is a lot. Like web design, hosting, they publish comics, they’ve got art and art supplies and so much), and if you decide to purchase anything, use my code iamTBG for 10% off

Six Degrees – Thomas, Your 1976 Bates High School Prom King

Two weeks left in Season 2 and this week’s episode features a friend with a familiar name. I met Thomas at a show in Boston on Thanksgiving weekend in 2016. I had gotten the tickets for my brother and I but wasn’t able to make it. The downstairs at the Middle East was decorated in the likeness of the Bates High School prom from the movie Carrie. We were there to see a band that we both have a mutual love for Ice Nine Kills. Thomas showed up in a white suit and was actually voted Prom King that night and was invited up on stage for one of their last songs “Hell in the Hallways”, (which is based on Carrie). Thomas and I became fast friends and have been ever since. He’s a kind, generous, outgoing, funny, energetic guy who always seems to see the bright side of situations. It’s been awesome knowing him and hopefully we see each other again, sooner rather than later. Thanks to Danny Roman of Successfully Failing Studios for the artwork. Six Degrees – When Life Gives Katie Lemons, She Pins Life Down and Squeezes the Juice in its Eyes

We are officially in the final three weeks of season two and halfway through the full interviews. This week is someone that I met when I first started dating my wife. Katie was/is one of my wife’s sorority sisters. We’ve been friends for quite a bit and I’ve seen her grow from a timid young woman into a tough, take no shit type of lady. Don’t get me wrong, she is still and always has been the funny, goofy, kind, intelligent, mindful, loving, driven, caring lady that I met more than ten years ago but when life gave her lemons, she pinned life down and squeezed the juice into its eyes. It’s always been a fun time talking with Katie and this conversation was one of my favorite I’ve had.

Six Degrees – A Faylene Kevin

This week is the third of the full interviews and I’m very excited to release this full conversation. I’ve known Kevin in varying degrees for the last decade plus. I actually met him while I was interning at a now defunct indie record label in Boston. They were putting on these huge show/events with like 20 bands and one of the first ones was Kevin’s then band “A Faylene Sky”. We lost touch for a bit and then I found his current band, under their old name “It Lives, It Breathes”, and it was like I’d just seen him yesterday. Kevin is still fronting this band under their new name “Damn Nation”. I’ll give you the details on where to find them after the interview. Kevin is an absolutely fantastic singer and front man. Not only that, he’s a really great friend. He’s come onto my other podcast “Geek Ronin” and “We The Geek” to talk comic and pop culture with us and is ever knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. Kevin is driven, hardworking, funny, articulate, opinionated and sometimes can be an asshole but honestly who isn’t? It is always a pleasure to talk to the man and this conversation was no exception, enjoy. You can find Kevin and his band on social media, just search for Damn Nation on Facebook/twitter/instagram and at damnnationrock.com and you can follow him on IG as well at @iamkevinlacerda. You can find me on facebook/twitter/instagram @iamthomastbg and on my website iamTBG.com. If you’re listening on a podcast app, please rate, review and subscribe to help get the word out. These two seasons are a good start but I think this can be even better with the newer seasons in the works. Thanks to Danny Roman of Successfully Failing Studios for the artwork. Six Degrees – Vote For Pedro

Welcome to the second half of season two of Six Degrees. This week is the second of the full interviews. This week is someone who I’ve literally never met in person. His name is Pedro and we know each other through a mutual person that was in both of our lives and then abruptly went batshit crazy and we both peaced out. We were both personalities on the first podcast, (if you could even call it that), that I was ever on. I won’t name it because that’s not what we’re here for. Pedro is a musician, a husband and an amazing friend. He is incredibly supportive and resilient. His band, Euroasia, is in the process of recording new music and recently re-recorded their first EP. Pedro is quick to make a joke, is honest and just an overall great guy. I truly enjoyed my conversation with him. You can find Pedro and his band on Instagram @euroasiaband and bandcamp at euro-asia.bandcamp.com, please check them out. You can find me on facebook/twitter/instagram @iamthomastbg and on my website iamTBG.com. If you’re listening on a podcast app, please rate, review and subscribe to help get the word out. Six Degrees – I Am Above The Law!

Welcome to the second half of season two of Six Degrees. This week starts the full interviews, one each week for the next six weeks. This week is someone who has literally answered every question I’ve put together for this show. He recently put out an episode of his own podcast, (TAOS by Law), answering season one’s questions, he participated in this season and this past weekend he sat down with me to answer season three’s question with my wife as bonus content for next season. I am, of course, talking about Law. I met Law in the summer of 2015 and, not to be cliche, we were immediately best friends. It was like that moment in Step Brothers where they realize they’re so similar, except without the bickering first. Law is a hard working, fast learning, kind, caring and reliable individual. We’ve had many a crazy night, weekend or week for the last several years and I can honestly say I don’t see that changing any time soon. You can find Law and all of the amazing things that he does at taosbylaw.com and on social media with the same handle: @taosbylaw. The mans a photographer, videographer, event planner, podcaster, youtuber and so much more, please check him out. You can find me on facebook/twitter/instagram @iamthomastbg and on my website iamTBG.com. If you’re listening on a podcast app, please rate, review and subscribe to help get the word out. Six Degrees – For The Ones Who Dream Of Stranger Worlds

Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter. Marvel. DC. Disney and Warner Brothers. All of these are synonymous with original, (mostly lol), characters and established universes or worlds. We immerse ourselves in these worlds through TV, movies, books, comics and other mediums to escape our reality. But what if you could live next door to Captain America? Travel Middle Earth with Aragon? Go to Hogwarts with Harry Potter? What universe would you live in and why? That is the concept we will explore in this weeks episode. Let me know your answer. You can find me on facebook/twitter/instagram @iamthomastbg and on my website iamTBG.com. If you’re listening on a podcast app, please rate, review and subscribe to help get the word out. Six Degrees – Ohana Means Family. Family Means No One Gets Left Behind.

Family means different things to different people. In fact, you can have separate and multiple families depending on your definition. We always have a hard time defining the word. It’s a complex concept that adults have trouble expressing to other adults. But what if you were asked by a five year old what the definition of family was? How would you answer? Would you dumb it down or would you try to explain it with the complex ideas that many adults use to express its meaning? And even if you dumbed it down, would you get your point across? That is this episodes discussion. You can find me on facebook/twitter/instagram @iamthomastbg and on my website iamTBG.com. If you’re listening on a podcast app, please rate, review and subscribe to help get the word out. TMOL 3 – To Be Read pt I

I’m doing a “To Be Read” or TBR list this year and will be reviewing the books I read and give my recommendations to everyone who will listen. Here is the first installment. The books are: Artemis by Andy Weir and Bird Box by Josh Malerman

Six Degrees – Ever Need A Vacation From A Vacation? Just Me?

Ever been on a vacation that you just didn’t want to end? I’d like to think we’ve all been on one of those.  As opposed to one that just dragged, those are usually family vacations that you went on when you were younger and didn’t want to go on. We’ve all had those too. Think back. What did you enjoy about it? Is it something you could replicate or was it just the combo of the right time, place and people? How we relax and unwind is a big part of our lives, regardless of how often we do it and where. This episode is dedicated to that line of thought.
